KASBA OF THE OUADAYA

Kasbah Oudayas is causing a small fortress built by the Almoravids in the fight against the Berghouata tribes. It becomes important with the Almohad that make it a Ribat overlooking the mouth of the river and called Bouregreg Mehdiya. 

The site was abandoned after the Almohads, it was the arrival of the Moors of Al-Andalus who revived the kasbah was restored and strengthened. Alawite dynasty began to turn the site development work between 1757 and 1789, then between 1790 and 1792. 

This whole site is visible through the monuments that make up the Kasbah Udayas such as Almohad and its famous monumental gate (Bab el-Kebir, a symbol of the Almohad architecture), Jamaa el Atiq Mosque the enclosure Alawite the princely house erected on the west and the military work of borj Sqala.
